GYBN Policy Training
The Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) is organising several upcoming meetings leading up to COP15, and GYBN wants to train the next generation of committed youth to follow these policy proceedings. This journey starts with a Policy & Advocacy Training on February 13-15 focusing on biodiversity-related policy, the CBD, and the post-2020 process. We did this training in partnership with the ICCA Consortium, and focused on the topics that will be discussed in the Post 2020 process, especially on the upcomming SBSTTA and SBI virtual sessions organized by the CBD Secretariat.

Capacity-building trainings
These trainings are a key component of our Youth Engagement Roadmap for the Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF), and an enabling factor to make youth voices heard at CBD COP15. During these trainings the participants earn a deeper understanding of biodiversity challenges, explore what they can do themselves to address the socio-ecological crisis the world is currently facing, exchange ideas and perspectives with new friends around the world and get ready to train and mobilize their own communities for a coordinated youth action for the Post-2020 GBF.
GYBN Mentorship program
The GYBN Mentorship Programme was designed to support the GYBN community to organise consultations that capture the priorities and perspectives of young people of the future they want for biodiversity and make sure they are heard by decision-makers around the world. It has been followed by chapter coordinators and general members and as an outcome we have national chapters from the regions of Asia, Latin America and the Caribean, Africa, Western European and Others organising youth consultations in their respective countries.
