Youth & NBSAPs

A Handbook on Youth & NBSAPs

The Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KMGBF) was adopted at 15th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP15) of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), held in Montreal in December 2022. Following this adoption, the world is at a critical juncture where countries are obliged to update their National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans (NBSAPs) to align with the KMGBF. This alignment is essential for effective implementation and ensures that national policies reflect the latest global biodiversity commitments and priorities.

The active presence of Global Youth Biodiversity Network (GYBN) chapters and other youth organizations in many countries can play a crucial role in this process. â€‹The Youth & National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans (NBSAPs) Handbook is designed to guide young people and those who wish to support them in engaging with and influencing the update of their countries' NBSAPs to be more inclusive, effective, and transformative.
