Bird Conservation with GYBN India

On the occasion of "Bird Week (5 to 12 November, 2020)", GYBN India in partnership with Nature, Environment & Wildlife ( NEW ) was invited by the Bramhapuri Forest Division to organize a bird-watching program and workshops on Bird Conservation. More than three hundred local young people, school students, farmers and other members participated in the 5-day event. The workshop vision was to educate students and local youth about the importance of birds in nature.

The 5th November during this week was the birthday of renowned forest voyager Shri Maruti Chitampalli Sir, and the 12th November was the anniversary of renowned ornithologist Dr. Salim Ali Sir. Because these special occasions related to birds occur so close together, this period has been declared "Bird Week" by Maharashtra State Government. GYBN India members worked with the Maharashtra Forest Department officials by giving guidance and identifying different bird species. The founder of NEW and GYBN India district coordinator Pankaj Makod and other members participated in the workshops and delivered valuable guidance on bird conservation.
