Sobre GYBN

La Red Global de Jóvenes por la Biodiversidad (GYBN) es una red internacional de 340 organizaciones juveniles, que representa a más de 680,000 jóvenes de 145 países cuyo objetivo común es prevenir la pérdida de biodiversidad. GYBN representa la voz de la juventud mundial en las negociaciones del Convenio de Diversidad Biológica (CDB), crea conciencia entre los jóvenes sobre los valores de la biodiversidad y conecta a individuos y organizaciones juveniles para construir una coalición global para detener la pérdida de biodiversidad. .

Como plataforma oficial de coordinación para la participación juvenil en las negociaciones bajo el CDB, GYBN se compromete a incorporar las opiniones y posiciones de los jóvenes en el proceso político, capacitando a los jóvenes para que tomen medidas. Reconocido y apoyado por la Secretaría del CDB, GYBN busca inspirar a la juventud global y a los futuros líderes a trabajar por el uso sostenible y la conservación de la biodiversidad para un medio ambiente y una sociedad saludables.

GYBN fue creado como resultado de una iniciativa internacional de jóvenes que participaron en CBD COP10 en 2010, y se estableció oficialmente en 2012.

La red está coordinada por un comité directivo internacional y está completamente dirigida por jóvenes para jóvenes.
